Issaquah and Snoqualmie E-News

Good Friday

All students are to wear full dress uniforms on Friday, April 2, Good Friday. We will have a silent dismissal from school. Please refrain from talking, calling out to your children, or using cell phones. If you must talk, make it a whisper and offer your silence to our Lord.

Stations of the Cross

On Good Friday, April 2 the 7th and 8th grade students will be presenting the Stations of the Cross at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows.

The 3rd grade students will be presenting the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, April 2 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church.

Please join our students on this solemn day to honor our Lord and Savior.

Accreditation Staff Dinner Thank You

The staff of St. Joseph School would like to extend a huge thank you to Martie and Vaughn Himes for the wonderful accreditation celebration hosted at their home. Your hospitality and graciousness on such a significant day in the school's history is deeply appreciated.

Walk-a-thon News

Logo Contest

Thank you to all students who sent in an entry for the logo contest!  We have so many wonderful artists at our school. A winner will be selected and announced when we return after Spring Break.

Start making your pledge list over Spring break. Pledge forms will be coming home after break.

We are also in need of large coolers and portable canopies.  If you have either to loan, please contact our WAT chairs.

If you would like to volunteer, we have lots of opportunities.  Please contact our chairs Theresa Baker at Theresa@BakerIG.com or Malou Leonardo at bcleonardo@msn.com.

Mariners Night

Yearbook Photos

WANTED: Photos for the yearbook. Pictures of class field trips, parties, CYO, special events—masses, concerts, etc. are needed for the yearbook. Please submit on a CD to either office. Pictures need to be at least 300 dpi. Thank you!

SpringFEST

SpringFEST - Saturday, May 22nd 6pm-11pm

Secure a babysitter and invite your friends. SpringFEST, previously know as Barn Party, guarantees to be an exciting evening held again at the beautiful McCracken Party Barn.  Get ready to enjoy an evening of entertainment, DJ music, dancing, savory appetizers and dinner.  Be sure to watch and/or participate in the ever-so popular St. Joe’s Idol singing contest!  This adult only event welcomes all SJS parents, parishioners, and friends. Saint Joe’s Idol

ME ME ME ME MEEEE LA LA LA LAAAAAA…..

Warm up your vocal cords and get ready for ST. JOES IDOL 2010!

We’re going to rock the roof off with our ever so talented and exuberant friends. 

Can our reining champion, Fr. Bryan, be defeated?  Who will be honored with this year’s   Idol Trophy?  Start thinking of who YOU will be nominating and voting for during the St. Joe’s idol Contest at this year’s SpringFEST.  Begin emailing your nominations to stjoesidol@gmail.com on April 1st.  Type the nominees name(s) in the subject line and click send.  It’s that easy!

Shape Up Across Washington starts today!

Mileage Logs went home today in the Thursday Envelopes. There should be one for each student. If you would like to participate yourself just make a copy. This is required PE homework for the month of April. There is no Fitness Calendar as we are doing Shape Up instead. Directions are on the Mileage Logs and questions may be address to Jane Hughes. At the end of the month parents please sign anywhere on the calendar to validate your student’s work and send it back to school. Thank you for supporting this journey. ~ Jane Hughes

Women's Volleyball

Calling all Women Volleyball players to open gym - pick up Volleyball Games on Sundays.  Previous playing experience requested...some high school or grade school.  Time varies weekly but play is on Sunday's...if interested please email - Maria Recchi at recchis@comcast.net or call 425-292-0192.

HIGH 5'S

Fourth Grade Olympia Trip

The tour guides from the Olympia Tour called and raved about how well our students behaved and how knowledgeable they were about our Washington History. The class was also invited onto the House Floor with our local representative Jay Rodne. Way to go Fourth Graders!

Project Crayon Drive

Fourth grader Keenan P. is helping to collect crayons for patients and their families at Children's Hospital. High 5 Keenan!

Volleyball Playoffs

Congrats to our 7th grade girls volleyball team for a winning season.  Come cheer the team on for round one of playoff games.  St. Joseph will play Holy Family Seattle on Saturday, April 17 starting at noon at St. George gym.

If a child has a success to share, please submit a blurb to Christine Vollen at snoqualmie@sjsissaquah.org to be published.

Easter Sunday Parking

Free shuttle service from the Issaquah Public Library parking lot to St. Joseph will be continuously available on Easter Sunday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Easter Surprise

All children age 10 and under are invited to McGirl Hall after all Easter Sunday Masses for the St. Joseph annual Easter Surprise.

Lunch with Friends

Please join us for an Easter Season luncheon on Wednesday, April 7th at 12:00 Noon in McGirl Hall. All are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend!! We gather to share a meal and celebrate the new life we receive in Christ!

Spanish Mass

The next Mass in Spanish will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 8th in the Worship Space. This Mass is offered every second Thursday of month, dual language worship aids are provided. All are welcome!

First Communion 

MONDAY APRIL 19th or SATURDAY APRIL 24th

This is a friendly reminder that the next follow-up session for you and your child  will be held on (YOUR CHOICE), Monday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m. or Saturday, April 24th at 9:00 a.m. in McGirl Hall. Please bring your child, packet, and books. We will also discuss the preparation details for Rehearsal/Photo Shoot Day and First Communion Masses. Food donations may be left in the Church, downstairs next to the elevators.
