TUITION AND TMS FOR APRIL 2010

Tuition Management Systems is located in Warwick, Rhode Island where there has been a flooding disaster.  You may have experienced a minor delay in your check processing as they have a tremendous backlog as they get back on their feet.  Rest assured everything will be back to normal in the next few days.  Your checks will be deposited and your automatic check withdrawals will be taken out in the next few days.  Their online system is back  up and their call centers are now available for calls.   If you have further questions regarding your tuition for April please feel free to contact me at cwillard@sjsissaquah.org.  Thank you.  Carol Willard

PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY

On Wednesday, April 14, the “reigns” of St. Joseph School were handed over to Renee D., Principal for the Day at the Issaquah Campus.  Renee discharged her duties exceptionally, granting extra recess, calling a “disco” free dress day, cancelling science for fun and games, to name a just a few of her directives.  She was escorted her lunch restaurant choice, Taco Time, with Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Olund.  She visited all of the Issaquah classrooms, with her school badge and whistle, enjoying the opportunity to visit and take suggestions for the day!  Watch for pictures of this big day in the upcoming yearbook.  Well done Renee.

Science Boards

Science Display Boards are for sale at the Snoqualmie Campus for $3.00.

Walk-a-thon News

Thank you to all the students who sent in an entry for the logo contest!  We have so many wonderful artists at our school.  The WAT co-chairs selected Sarah S. in Mrs. Myers class and Colleen S. in Mr. Eberhardt’s class.  Congratualtions!

Start making your pledge lists. Pledge forms will be coming home in the April 22 Thursday envelope.  Each family is required to procure at least $100 in donations.  This is stated in your registration contract.  Pledges are due Friday, May 21.

Please remember the WAT is held as two separate events.  K – 1st grade will have their WAT on Wednesday, May 5 on the Issaquah playground lot.  Grades 2 - 8 will have their WAT on Thursday, May 6 on the Snoqualmie campus.  Bus service will be provided for Grades 2 - 3 to arrive prior to the start of the WAT.

Parents, please plan on picking up your 2nd – 8th grade students on the Snoqualmie campus after the WAT.  Students will be dismissed at 3:00 pm.  The after school bus from Snoqualmie to Issaquah will only be available to students signed up for after care.

Students will have free dress on the day their grade participates in the WAT.  Please watch the weather and pray for sunshine!

We are also in need of large coolers and portable canopies.  If you have either to loan, please contact our WAT co-chairs.

If you would like to volunteer, we have lots of opportunities.  Please contact our chairs Theresa Baker at Theresa@BakerIG.com or Malou Leonardo at bcleonardo@msn.com.

A reminder that this is required PE homework for the month of April. There is no Fitness Calendar as we are doing Shape Up instead. Directions are on the Mileage Logs and questions may be address to Jane Hughes. At the end of the month parents should sign anywhere on the calendar to validate your student’s work and send it back to school. Thank you for supporting this journey. Jane Hughes

Parish Food Drive - Ongoing

Canned food. Baby food. Staples like flour, sugar and cooking oil. Peanut butter and bread for kids’ lunches. Pasta. Chili. Salt. Anything. The soup you don’t have room for. The vegetables that were on sale. The cereal your baby doesn’t like. If it’s good food—unopened and unexpired—the Issaquah Food Bank really needs it. Families in crisis means pets in crisis—and a desperate need for pet food, too. Don’t let your neighbors go hungry tonight. Please give what you can. Food donations may be left in the Church, downstairs next to the elevators.
