Farwell Ms. Doumit

Once a student, always a student! Ms. Rebecca Doumit, 6th grade teacher, will be leaving St. Joseph’s School for graduate work at Washington State University next year.  Though only with us one year, Ms. Doumit quickly became an integral part of our middle school team, bringing energy, creativity and a love of students to her classroom.  Her varied projects in literature and other subjects have been indicative of the imaginative ideas used to engage students in their learning.  We are grateful for your contributions and wish you much success in your future.

CHURCH

Adult Education: Introduction to Christian Spirituality

Many hunger for a deeper prayer life, a way of meditating that “works,” or an experience of God’s presence in their lives. To answer this need, Christianity offers dozens of spiritualities—Dominican, Franciscan, Ignatian, and so on. Why are there so many spiritualities? How can you discern which one is for you? Might spirituality offer more than just a way of praying or meditating? Join Fr. Bernhard Blankenhorn on Monday, June 14th at 7:00 PM in McGirl Hall for an introduction to Christian spirituality. Fr. Blankenhorn is a Dominican friar currently preparing a dissertation in Medieval Mystical Theology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.

K OF C Pancake Breakfast

Join the Knights of Columbus downstairs for a Pancake Breakfast after the Morning Masses on Sunday, June 20th.

Liturgical Ministers Sign-Up

Many of us have vacations planned, yet our growing parish still needs the support of our amazing ministers during the summer months. Please take a moment to sign-up for Summer Masses. Sign-up sheets are found at the Gathering Space table next to the Reconciliation Room door. We hope this voluntary option will provide flexibility for you. You may even want to try another Mass time! There will be no assignments during this summer trial. Please sign-up so our Sacristans are not left to recruit just before Mass. Email litmin@sjcissaquah.org if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas. Thank you for your dedication to our parish family!

Legion of Mary

The Pilgrim Virgin statue is available for parishioners. To reserve for one week, please sign the book located below the large statue of Mary near the Chapel with your name, phone number and the Mass you attend.

12:00 Mass Needs Musicians

If you would like to sing or play an instrument please contact Nell, nellengel@hotmail.com

Church Work Party

Do you feel like you want to do more for your parish community, but don’t usually have the time? Join us on Saturday, June 12th at 9:00 AM in the church parking lot for a parish work party! We will be working on the grounds grading, weeding, and performing general landscape maintenance. All ability levels are encouraged to lend a hand! Everyone is welcome!

 Parish Food Drive - Ongoing

Are you going to eat that? The soup you don’t have room for. The vegetables that were on sale. The cereal your baby doesn’t like. If it’s good food—unopened and unexpired—the Issaquah Food Bank really needs it. St. Joseph makes it even easier for you to participate! A parish volunteer delivers donations once a week from St. Joseph to the Issaquah Food Bank. Just bring your food donations to the church and drop them off in the boxes downstairs next to the elevator.
