Welcome back to school, hopefully the summer
was relaxing and fun! Welcome to all of our new families. Here's
to a wonderful school year!
Just a few reminders to start the new school
year:

Campus Open for Students
Students are not allowed
on campus before school unless they are in Extended Care in Issaquah
or before school activities in Snoqualmie. Students may not be left
unattended or dropped off before the drop-off attendant is present.

After school pickup
Any student that has not
been picked up by a parent at the Issaquah campus by 3:30 pm will be
placed in Extended Care and charges will apply. Any Snoqualmie
campus student that has not been picked up by 3:15 pm will be
charged $5.00 per fifteen minutes.
All School Mass - Friday,
September 11 at 9:00 am
Please join us for our
opening All School Mass on Friday, September 11 at 9am at St. Joseph
Church in Issaquah.
All students need to be dropped off at St. Joseph Church in Issaquah
starting at 8:45 am. All 4 – 8 grade students should meet their
teacher in the Church Hall. All K-3 grade students should go
directly to their classroom. FULL DRESS UNIFORM is
required. Girls – plaid jumper, plaid skirt, plaid skort,
navy skirt or navy skort (6-8 only) or navy pants, plain white,
collared shirt, and sweater or vest, no leggings. Boys –
long, navy pants, white collared shirt, and sweater or vest. No
red shirts, khakis, sweatshirts or shorts.
There will be no bus service on this day.
Students dropped off before 8:45 am must go directly to Extended
Care.
All
students will be dismissed from the Issaquah Campus at 11:50 am.
Snoqualmie Parking Lot
This
summer, the impermeable surface of the parking lot was reduced to meet
city code requirements. The reduction in pavement, combined with the
required planter on the far end of the concrete divider, has created a
tight turning radius. Please allow the car in front of you adequate
space to make the turn before pulling completely forward. Thank you for
your support in maintaining a safe carpool process.
Back to School Nights
Please plan to attend St.
Joseph Back to School nights. The Snoqualmie Campus night is
Thursday, September 17 at 7pm. The Issaquah Campus night is
Thursday, September 24 at 7pm. These special parent nights will give
you an opportunity to meet the staff and teachers. This is a parent
only event.
Conference Sign-Up
Sheets will be posted and available for parents to schedule their
conference at both Back to School Nights. Conferences
are scheduled for the second week in November.
Medication at School
The
Washington Board of Health require
Please plan to attend St.

requires an “Authorization to Administer
Oral Medication” to be on file
in the school office. This form includes the condition requiring
medication, the drug to be administered, and the physician’s
signature. All medications must be kept in the office in a secure
location with clearly labeled written instructions. A student will
report to the office at the prescribed time to have medication
administered. Students will take all medications in the office and
staff will sign off on a record keeping form. No teacher is to give out

New Milk
Program
Milk may be purchased by the
trimester or for the entire year. If you child would like milk, please
complete the entire form and attach a check.
All forms are due to the school office by Friday, September 11th.

Students walking off campus after school
If your child has permission
to walk off campus after school, a
note must be on file in the school office.
Chess
Mr. Cross
will be Chess Master again this year for the Issaquah Campus. Chess
Club starts this Friday, September 11 at 8:15 am in the church hall.

Puyallup Fair Parking
ALL SAINTS
SCHOOL FAIR PARKING
When you
attend the fair this year, please support Catholic education by parking
in the All Saints School fair parking lot. They are open everyday of the
fair (September 11th- 27th). This lot is run and staffed by
parent volunteers. All proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to All
Saints Catholic School. They are located on 7th Ave SW between 2nd & 3rd
St SW, just 2 blocks north of the fairgrounds. Look for our volunteers
in the red aprons waving red banners. Click

AUCTION
Auction News
The St.
Joseph School “Faithful Friends” Dinner and Auction is just 10 weeks
away! Time to get your procurement items in—the deadline for procurement
is Friday, September 25th! You can bring your items and forms to the
Issaquah campus parking lot on Wednesday mornings at 8:30-9am or Friday
afternoons at 3-3:30pm. Lisa Folstrom Froman and Jennifer Simperman
(welcome to our new Inventory Co-Chair!) will have signs out at their
cars to collect your donations.
There are
still many volunteer opportunities available including Silent Auctions
Table Chairs, Day of Auction and Night of Auction Help, Publicity Chair,

parents. Each Snoqualmie student 4th-8th grade has been issued a

Volunteer Requirements:
At St. Joseph School the safety of our students, mind and body, is
important to all of us. In order to
volunteer in any capacity that involves students including: classroom
volunteer, coach, scout leader, field trip volunteer, etc.,
volunteers must meet the following requirements:

Parent Volunteer Orientation Tuesday, September 29, 2009
For all the parents and
grandparents that would like to volunteer, attend a field trip
or coach at St. Joseph School, please plan on attending the
Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 7:00
p.m. at St. Joseph Church. This is for all the new parents and
returning parents that have not taken this training before. If
you have any questions please call the Issaquah campus office at
425-313-9129 x321. This is in addition to the Archdiocesan Safe
Environment Training. Thank you!
Important Volunteer Opportunity! School Finance Members!
The St. Joseph School Finance
Committee is looking for new members for the 2009 –2010 school
year. This working committee collaborates with the Principal
and Business Manager in the areas of tuition, budget, long range
financial planning and other financial areas. Background in
accounting, finance, and/or budgeting preferred. The School
Finance Committee meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00
pm at the Issaquah campus. Meetings are approximately one
hour. This is a great opportunity to earn volunteers hours and
share your financial skills to benefit your child’s school!

Seasons of Faith
A time set apart to be attentive
to God’s Word.
Seasons of Faith meets on
Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am -11:00 am in the St. Francis
Room beginning September 9th. At each gathering we will read
and reflect on the Scriptures for the upcoming Sunday,
listening for how God’s Word forms us to know the Way.
No prior experience is

Saturday Work Party
Help keep our facilities looking
nice! The next parish work party is September 12th from 9:00

Parish Picnic
St. Joseph Annual Parish Picnic
will be held on Sunday, September 13th at Pickering Barn
from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. A special 10:30 a.m. Mass with
Archbishop Alex Brunett will be celebrated before the picnic
outside the barn by the Gazebo. Come join in the fun!
Parishioners with last names beginning with A-K please bring
a dessert to share, L-Z please bring a side dish, salad, or
fruit or vegetable platter. RSVP by filling out one of the
forms in the back of the Church.

What a fun way to support your
parish community! Helpers are still needed to supervise
games and occupy the welcome tables. Please call Margie

All Parish Annual Retreat
Discover God’s Call for Your

Church on Saturday, September 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. for the Catherine of Siena Called and Gifted Workshop.
During this energizing workshop Fr. Bryan will help each
one of us discern our own personal gifts and then teach us
how to use our gifts together to transform and renew our
