8th Grade
The
goals of religious instruction are to develop the student’s religious
experience through prayer, catechetical instruction on Church doctrine,
and application of biblical principals to their daily lives. Students will
also have opportunities to explore their individual feelings, attitudes
and choices and discuss moral values and social relationships.

Morality:
Students
will explore these concepts: Jesus calls us to live a life of
discipleship. Faith helps us to make sense of life and life’s questions.
Christians are called to serve others. Christians are responsible for
their options.
Christians
are called to spread the Kingdom of God. Christians are called to be
responsible stewards of God’s world.
Church
History, Theology: Students
will explore these concepts: The New Testament reveals an early Church
struggling for survival. The Church has functioned in a variety of roles
over the centuries. Doctrines and creeds express Christian beliefs. The
Church has a teaching role. The history of the Catholic Church in the
Pacific Northwest has shaped the Archdiocese of Seattle.
Prayer:
Students
pray daily using a variety of prayer experiences, both formal and
spontaneous. Students play an active role in their community and church by
studying justice issues and participating in service projects. Students
attend Mass in the Snoqualmie campus gym twice per month and will prepare
one liturgy during the school year. |
